Ian Macleod Distillers Grows In-House Sales And Distribution Team

Following the appointments of Alan Wardrop and Neil Boyd last year as UK Sales Manager and UK Commercial Director respectively, Ian Macleod Distillers has appointed Danielle Murphy as Business Development Manager (Scotland) to further strengthen the sales team.

In 2010 Ian Macleod made the decision to take the UK and Ireland distribution of its portfolio of spirits brands back in-house.  On the back of a very successful first year with an in-house sales and distribution team (group turnover increased 22% to £31.9m in the year to 30 Sept 2010), a further appointment has been made.  Danielle's role will be to develop the Ian Macleod brands in all styles of outlets, from five star hotels, restaurants to clubs and pubs. Training and educating staff responsible for selling the brands will also be an integral part of the position.

Danielle comes to Ian Macleod with an ideal background for this newly created role.  She has eight years experience in the licensed trade including her last role as sales account manager at Maxxium Drinks Distributors.   She is a previous winner of the SLTN Sales Representative of the Year and has WSET Level 2 in Wines and Spirits.    Danielle originally graduated with a HND in Marketing and an HNC in Creative Communications from the Central College of Commerce in Glasgow.
